US-based startup Safe SuperIntelligence has announced that it has raised over USD 1B in funding after 3 months in the market. The largest planned venture capital support program in Poland assumes that in the coming years all funds will receive a total of about half of this amount of public money to be spent on hundreds of promising startups.
People keep asking whether the fund market in the US and Poland is still different after all this time. Does it even matter where to begin?
We have definitely been going in the right direction for years, but we don’t have transactions on such a scale and we won’t for a long time. There is still a gap in access to capital for the best companies in Silicon Valley and Coal Valley. It is worth keeping this in mind if you are thinking about a real breakthrough on a global scale.
The comment section had too add:
Putting a stick in the anthill, I think that such capital, assuming that it would invest only in Poland, would be burned out. We are a micro market, we have a lot of ideas and concepts, but there is a lack of startup culture and experience. As you wrote, we are in the process and we’re going in the right direction. And here we should drop any complexes, because we started from level -1.
The saddest thing is that in Poland we write about financing from public money. The state as an investor in startups is a sad tragedy – and pure corruption. Have fun with someone else’s money.

Capital is one thing, but it is equally important to create an environment that supports innovation and development.
Of course, Silicon Valley operates on a different level, but that doesn’t mean that Poland doesn’t have potential! Our advantage may be greater flexibility and support for the early stages of start-up development.
Instead of comparing, it makes sense to focus on how we can leverage our unique resources to attract global talent and investment. Maybe this is where there is a chance to build something unique?
