The 3rd edition of Polish-Swiss Innovation Day will take place on 23rd May 2017 at Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer Management of the Warsaw University of Technology to further develop a policy dialogue between Switzerland and Poland on innovation, exchange best practices and emphasize the role of digitalization in gaining competitive advantages in both business and academia.

The phenomenon of digitalization is reaching an inflection point. The opportunities that open up are extensive. Increased level of service, automation, and artificial intelligence reduced environmental impact, more efficient processes in the industrial and service sectors and simplified everyday life. At the same time, digitalization brings many new challenges. Smart digitalization requires capable handling of issues relating to privacy, security, energy consumption, as well as issues related to the transition that takes place when jobs disappear. Last but not least, on a country level, digitalization represents the opportunity to join the ranks of the leading European innovation hubs. These issues will be addressed by the 3rd edition of Polish-Swiss Innovation Day. This year’s leading theme will be: How to shape a thriving digital ecosystem? The Polish-Swiss Innovation Day is the well-established innovation policy forum for Polish, Swiss and international experts, government representatives, policy makers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and startups.

“I believe that Polish-Swiss Innovation Day is an excellent forum for the exchange of experiences which bring us closer to our goal: a modern economy. Swiss practice in the area of innovation is a great inspiration. I hope that the results of the projects implemented under the Swiss Contribution will allow us in the next few years to begin together many technologically advanced ventures developed by Polish entrepreneurs and inventors. The effects of these works are very valuable for us, as it will contribute to the rapid implementation of the Action Plan for Responsible Development of Poland, which aims to strengthen the capacity of our economy in the coming years. Polish-Swiss Innovation Day is a good opportunity to sustain what we have achieved together so far and to reflect on the forthcoming challenges”– underlines Jadwiga Emilewicz, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Economic Development.
