Introducing Globalworth and Hackathon

Globalworth is a top real estate investor in the CEE region, listed on AIM of the London Stock Exchange. Focused on Poland and Romania, it acquires, develops, and manages premium office and industrial properties in prime locations. Its EUR 3B portfolio (as of December 31st, 2023) is 96.8% income-generating, leased to more than 690 global and domestic tenants. With next to 270 professionals across Poland, Romania, Cyprus, and Guernsey, Globalworth holds assets in major cities like Warsaw, Krakow, Bucharest, and Timisoara, among others, solidifying its strong market presence in the CEE’s commercial real estate sector.

Globalworth’s Real Estate Hackathon brings together commercial real estate with cutting-edge IT and AI trends, presenting a unique chance for engineers, developers, startups, and visionaries to collaborate on innovative tools, features, and improvements with a mission to enhance workspaces, their functionality, sustainability, and inspiration.

Commercial real estate is one of the largest industries in the world, yet one of the least innovative. Changes in the way we work and function in offices are occurring faster than ever, but infrastructure and technologies don’t always keep pace or offer similar solutions within the same systems and functionalities. So we’ve created an initiative that gives a voice to users of office spaces as well as to visionaries and creators from outside the sector, opening the industry to new ideas,’ states Rafał Pomorski, Managing Director of Finance & Operations at Globalworth Poland, and juror of Globalworth’s upcoming Real Estate Hackathon.

Objectives and Themes

Participants of the Hackathon will tackle challenges in three thematic tracks:

  1. Future of Workspaces: Develop innovative solutions that enhance employee experiences in hybrid work models or strengthen community building within office spaces.
  2. Green Buildings, Green Habits: Create technologies that promote eco-friendly practices and sustainability within office environments.
  3. Open Track: Present groundbreaking ideas that don’t necessarily fit into the above categories but have the potential to revolutionize the commercial real estate sector.

Those interested are welcome to register individually or in teams of 2-5 programmers, analysts, UX designers, real estate specialists, ambitious students, and anyone with innovative ideas for creating intelligent tools that can impact the real estate market.

Incentives and Opportunities

The hackathon offers a prize pool of PLN 40K, and the winning solutions will get an opportunity of implementing within Globalworth’s properties. Participating innovators expose their visionary ideas to industry experts, fostering an environment of mutual discovery. This collaboration between Globalworth’s real estate expertise and participants’ tech prowess aims to yield solutions that could significantly impact the commercial real estate landscape.

Calling Innovators

By organizing this hackathon, Globalworth Poland actively engages in shaping the future of the commercial real estate market. The company underscores the importance of innovative solutions and openness to new ideas, inspiring the real estate sector to learn from those who perceive technology and interactions in a modern and dynamic way.

We are not looking for perfect, finished solutions – what matters is the idea, potential, creative approach, and courage in thinking about the future of offices. Participants are encouraged to set no boundaries for themselves. Often, it’s the unconventional, even seemingly absurd ideas that lead to breakthrough discoveries,’ Magdalena Mikula, Asset Management & Leasing Manager at Globalworth Poland and mentor of the hackathon, highlights.
