European Business Forum on Digital Economy CEEDS’15 by Webit took place on 21-22 April 2015 at Sofia Event Center, Sofia, Bulgaria. It is a premier Digital & Tech gathering for the markets of Central & Eastern Europe.
- What are the trends defining the future of media and marketing?
- Why is online video so hot?
- Can Big Data be smart?
- And, how to succeed in digital?
These are just few of the questions which were discussed during the two-day event by the industry leaders and startup entrepreneurs. The forum brought together more than 3,000 people from 40 countries to listen to 100+ influential speakers and meet with potential partners and investors.
This year’s CEEDS kicked off with an opening talk by Andrus Ansip, who is Vice President for the Digital Single Market at the European Commission. He spoke about digital change in Europe and e-government, among other things, and answered questions about the place of American tech companies in Europe and the abolition of roaming surcharges. The event hosted three main parallel stages:
- The Tech Summit,
- Marketing and Innovation Summit,
- and Enterprise2Founders Summit,
all of which offered a variety of workshops and roundtables, as well as plenty of space for networking. There was also a place for more than 20 startups to exhibit for free during the event.
The speakers’ list included top leaders of the following companies: Google, Microsoft, Philips, Samsung, Orange, ARM, GroupM, MasterCard, Forbes, MC Global. Some of them came from Poland: Marcin Tomasz Hejka, Vice President, Intel Capital; Aleksander Smigielski, Media Director CEE & CIS at Boehringer Ingelheim; Piotr Kabaj, Chairman & Managing Director at Warner Music Poland, and Artur Turemka, General Manager Balkans MasterCard.
CEEDS is part of the Global Webit Series, launched by Plamen Russev, a Bulgarian entrepreneur and investor. In just five years, Webit events have asserted themselves among the most prestigious and influential tech events in the EMEA region.
