Sink or swim is no more a question for Swimmo, a Polish company based in Poznan, that created first ever watch designed specifically for swimmers. On 16 April, the inventors started a Kickstarter campaign to raise $39,000 and reached its target within 48 hours after the kick-off of the campaign, and we obviously wish them to become a big fish in the sea of wearables.

The watch works like your own personal coach, it keeps you on track, motivates you while swimming and provides immediate feedback – it helps to maximize the time spent on training and reach better results faster. That is why Swimmo would be a great idea for people who want to keep fit and those who want to improve their body shape and stay in good health.

“There are many apps and devices that support training for runners and cyclists, but very few are created specifically for swimmers, we decided to change that” says Swimmo CEO, Mateusz Heleniak, “Swimmo is a smartwatch that overcomes all the challenges of using a wearable device underwater, it focuses on developing the strength and power of muscles through customized training. We have outfitted the device with a number of proprietary technologies such as Rotate&Tap™ gesture control, a waterproof heart rate sensor, IntensityCoach™ and PaceKeeper™.  All of these features help keep your swimming pace in line with your current training plan.”

Swimmo is developed by a Polish team led by – Mateusz Heleniak, the anchorman you could say – entrepreneur and swimming enthusiast. Other squad members include Michal Bonikowski, Tomasz Wątorowski and Rafal Piłat who created DICE+, the winner of the prestigious IF GOLD Product Design Award in 2014.

Swimmo is scheduled to reach its numerous backers in October this year and we’re sure whole company crew will have all hands on deck to deliver.
