Teemyco – Zoom With Negotiations by Alexander Gornyi

The most successful of all online event services is Hoping. Its trick is to transfer everything online head-on-head, as if it was offline, without inventing or optimizing anything. If people are used to reception, then let them have a reception online.

Swedish #startupofteday Teemyco has the same approach for remote work. Office workers are used to desks, kitchens, and meeting rooms, so let’s give them tables, kitchens, and meeting rooms instead of wacky Zoom links.

The administrator draws a map of the office, then the employees see all offices and who is in them now. A click of the mouse – and a person is in the necessary meeting room; that is, he connects to the general video call, and his avatar is now drawn on the map in the selected room. Meetings can be arranged in the “big hall,” the signal for a smoke break can be given by moving “to the cooler.” If the chief has no one in the office, you can knock and ask to come in. If the whole team has met without you, it’s better to clarify; maybe the invitation was lost.

From the outside, it seems that this is more a feature than a product; it’s like the corresponding extension for Google Meet or Zoom would sell better. But the founders decided differently and went to compete with the giants. The official launch of the project took place in early June. At the same time, the startup announced the attraction of a round of investments – 2.6 million euros.
