On October 22–23rd, the well-known Czech VC firms DEPO Ventures and J&T Ventures will host the sixth edition of the Engaged Investments Conference, bringing together investors and startup founders for a two-day program in Prague. The event, a flagship gathering for the Czech venture capital ecosystem, retains its two-day format, with the first day dedicated to investors and the second day focused on startups.

Day one will center on investment discussions, spotlighting deep tech, defense technologies, AI, and other key trends influencing both global venture capital and the CEE region. According to the organizers, shifting geopolitical and economic conditions have elevated these fields. More specifically, AI continues to dominate the early-stage landscape, accounting for nearly half of all investments in the region, but now there’s a clear momentum shift from applications to infrastructure, alongside a surge of interest in deep tech — from quantum and space technologies to drones and cybersecurity. The agenda will feature expert panels and thought leaders exploring how these sectors are reshaping the market.

On day two, attention turns to founders. Fifty promising startups from across the CEE region, spanning angel stage to Series A, will pitch their ideas to an audience of investors. The day will also welcome entrepreneurs from outside the pitching sessions, offering networking opportunities and connections across the ecosystem. As part of Czech Startup Week, the event contributes to a broader lineup of technology-driven programs taking place across Prague in late October.

Participating investors’ portfolio founders are welcome to purchase tickets to join the Startup Fair and pitch their startups (they should also fill out the application form). Startups can also apply to the Startup World Cup Competition; those selected among the top ten will present at the Regional Finale, held during the conference.
