  • Latvian Spotwise is among TechChill Founders Battle’s winners with its AI copilot for broadcast sales teams
  • The startup was born from the identified inefficiencies in manual radio ad tracking and delayed sales data
  • The platform automates insights, lead generation, and outreach using real-time audio analysis
  • Spotwise’s ambition is to expand globally, enhance analytics, and ultimately dominate broadcast sales infrastructure

This March, Riga’s Hanzas Perons welcomed over 2,300 founders, investors, talent, and tech enthusiasts at TechChill Riga 2026. Arguably the biggest attraction was the Founders Battle which awarded four standout teams with cash/investment prizes. Among them was the Latvian Spotwise with its AI co-pilot for radio sales and analytics teams. The team brought home a 200K EUR investment by Outlast Fund and 100K EUR investment by the well-known Baltic VC firm BADideas.fund (invested in Breezit, among others).

From Radio Experience to Startup Idea

Roberts Ernests Levics, Founder and CEO at Spotwise

The idea behind Spotwise comes from its founder and CEO Roberts Ernests Levics’ experience in the broadcast industry. He used to be the Head of Digital at EHR (European Hit Radio), Latvia’s leading commercial broadcaster. There, he could observe the astounding inefficiencies of media sales firsthand. He mentions how the company had highly skilled (and well-paid) sales professionals literally sitting and listening to competitor stations, manually typing out which brands were running ads into Excel spreadsheets.

‘Not only is this process incredibly tedious, but it also meant that teams were always acting on delayed data. We started Spotwise because I knew exactly what sales reps needed to close deals, and our technical team had the expertise to build the complex AI and data pipelines to automate it. We didn’t just guess what the market needed; we built Spotwise to solve a massive operational bottleneck I lived with every day,’ Mr Levics tells ITKeyMedia.

AI Copilot for Broadcast Sales

Spotwise’s solution is an agentic AI copilot specifically built for radio and broadcast sales teams. It monitors multiple radio stations 24/7 and automatically identifies which brands are running commercials. In simple terms, it’s not unlike ChatGPT, but with native access to both historical and real-time data on absolutely everything that is happening in a local advertising market. Instead of manually building spreadsheets, a sales representative asks Spotwise questions. In return, the AI generates instant market reports, analyzes specific industry trends, uncovers new leads, finds the contact information for the decision-makers, and drafts personalized outreach emails to pitch those brands. By taking a legacy, highly manual process and turning live audio data into immediate, actionable revenue for broadcasters, it saves sales representatives countless hours of work.

‘The underlying technology wasn’t capable or cost-effective until recently. Processing and analyzing live audio streams 24/7 across multiple languages used to be both prohibitively expensive and highly inaccurate. Traditional speech-to-text wasn’t enough: you need an AI that could actually understand the context of an ad to identify the brand and the campaign. The recent massive leaps in LLMs and agentic AI finally made it possible to build a platform that doesn’t just transcribe audio but acts as an autonomous sales assistant,’ Mr Levics explains.

Rapid Growth and Investor Validation

In its first year, Spotwise can boast about having expanded to 13 countries and initiated active deployments with some of Europe’s largest broadcasting networks. The platform currently supports 93 languages. As for TechChill Founders Battle, its prize and momentum coincides with the official closing of the startup’s USD 450K Pre-Seed round by Outlast Fund, BADideas.fund, and 500 Global.

Kristaps Prusis, Founding Partner at Outlast Fund

‘Spotwise is moving at an incredible pace. Their ability to translate deep domain expertise into a platform that delivers immediate, measurable ROI is exactly what this industry needs. Securing the trust of major European broadcasters within months of launching is a testament to both the product and the team’s execution,’ Outlast Fund founding partner Kristaps Prusis states.

Plans, Roadmap, and Ecosystem Commentary

The new capital is meant to accelerate Spotwise’s expansion into Western European markets. Additionally, the next major step is deepening the platform’s analytics capabilities and supporting further development of television and podcast intelligence capabilities to expand Spotwise’s offering for broadcasters and media agencies. The team is actively connecting real-time monitoring directly with panel survey data and rate cards, allowing the AI to estimate competitor ad spend and track campaign performance automatically. Ultimately, the company is building the default operating system for broadcast sales globally.

‘I have to give a massive shoutout to DeepSpace Energy, who took home the main prize. As for whether their service would be useful for Spotwise… well, unless intergalactic radio stations start selling ad space and we need to start estimating Martian ad spend, probably not anytime soon! Jokes aside, what they are building for the space tech sector is incredibly ambitious, and it’s a true testament to the level of deep tech coming out of the Baltics right now,’ Mr Levics shares.

Spotwise’s example highlights AI’s capacity to transform even the most traditional industries by turning manual, time-consuming processes into real-time, revenue-generating intelligence. Its recognition at TechChill Founders Battle reflects both the urgency of innovation in media sales and the team’s ability to execute at speed across international markets. As the company expands its capabilities and geographic reach, Spotwise is well-positioned to redefine how broadcast advertising operates globally.
