About Zortrax

Zortrax was founded by two Polish entrepreneurs, Rafal Tomasiak, and Marcin Olchanowski. The idea for the startup came from an online store supporting DIY licensed 3D printers. They were running the shop and in parallel working on the new machine. The main idea was to create a complete 3D printing environment, which would allow to distance them from the DIY industry.

The concept of Zortrax’s first 3D printer, M200, was imagined in 2011 and finalized in 2013. To support production, and global awareness, they launched a Kickstarter campaign with which they could gather nearly $180,000. Zortrax shipped the M200 to all the backers and invested the money left in further development. The next big step was to issue bonds in January and March 2014, which lead to 7.2M PLN investment in Zortrax. On December 3rd, 2015, Zortrax, together with its official distributor 3D Phoenix, launched its store. The main idea for the showroom was to broaden the knowledge of 3D printing among both professionals and students. Last month in Amsterdam Zortrax introduced new printer Zortrax M300. We are looking forward to hearing about Zortrax’s entrance to Warsaw Stock Exchange.
