- Specialization. In the coming months, we will see a shift towards more specialized AI models and tools built for specific purposes. Companies will focus on developing customized datasets and tools tailored to AI agents. Expect a shift towards greater modularity, especially for complex tools and dedicated data.
- Multi-agent development. Imagine AI helpers joining forces instead of working on their won. With the right preparation of these tools, the efficiency of their work will increase.
- AIAaaS. Amazon Web Services has had a service called Mechanical Turk for a while now. It allows companies to hire groups of people to perform repetitive tasks. Now imagine hiring AI agents who can perform similar tasks on demand and at scale. Not only could an agent do routine work, but even learn or excel in specific tasks.
- AI agents will accelerate scientific discoveries. AI agents can analyze large amounts of data to find new patterns and insights. Eureqa generates mathematical equations based on raw data. Atomwise predicts the effectiveness of potential drug molecules, thereby accelerating their creation.
- AI Agent-Assisted Malware. Computer viruses are changing a lot, and we will soon be able to encounter some that use artificial intelligence, which will revolutionize identity theft and make it harder to detect malware. AI agents will be able to spawn on their own, but they will still be created by humans, which will pose a challenge in detecting them.
- AI Agents as Consumers. In the future, we can expect websites and tools to be adapted so that AI agents can easily search through them. Today, we design most things on the web with people in mind, but this could change as AI agents start consuming content and using tools more often.
- New professions will appear. As companies start using AI agents, there will be a need for new job roles. Specialists such as agent engineers, agent managers, trainers, auditors or operations agents will be necessary to manage, supervise and improve these systems. The new positions will also require expertise in monitoring and supervising AI agents.
