Poles should crack a bottle of champagne now that the 19th annual ‘Oscars of The Internet’ winners list is official.

Warsawrising.eu, a website developed by Warsaw Uprising Museum and BrightMedia, is the winner of Webby Awards in two categories: the ‘institution of culture’ category and a Webby People’s Voice Award. The website, dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising, is available in Polish, English and German.

The Webby Awards is the top international award for excellence on the Internet presented annually by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Categories include websites, online film and video, interactive advertising, and mobile. The so-called ‘Oscars of The Internet’ presents two honors in each category, one by members of The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which includes an executive 1000-member body of leading web experts such as Ariana Huffington and Conan O’Brien, the other by the public who cast their votes during Webby People’s Voice voting.

The winners will be announced in New York on 18 May.
