- Growceanu Angel Investment organizes its first Invest in Moonicorns event
- The event is meant for active and prospective angel investors in Romania and the CEE region
- The date is October 27-28th, and the place is Timișoara, Romania
This October, Growceanu, the well-known Romanian business angel association (invested in Onchochain, among others), organizes its first Invest in Moonicorns event. It aims at becoming the biggest get-together for business angels and HNWI (high net worth individuals) in Romania and the CEE region.
On October 27-28th, Faber Center Timișoara will welcome angel investors and other HNWIs willing to share insights and learn more about the ongoing and prospective trends in angel investment. The main goal of the event is to spotlight this type of investment to more potential angels.
According to the Knight Frank Global Wealth Sizing Model report, Romania counts over 91,000 HNWIs. At that, only about 1% of them show standing interest in angel investment, i.e. investing in tech companies with high growth potential.
As for the term ‘moonicorn,’ this is how Growceanu chooses to describe tech startups that value over USD 1B and got their investment specifically from business angels. They are like the regular unicorns but are much less known.
