From AI and Deep Tech to Climate and Energy
Under the theme ‘GENESIS. Origin of What’s Next’, VDS 2026 will explore the technological and societal transformations shaping the global economy. Its programme is structured around eight areas, spanning AI and Deep Tech, Climate and Energy, Defense and Aerospace, Talent and Future of Work, Health, Mobility and Logistics, Digital Wealth, and Policy.
- Artificial intelligence and Deep Tech will form a central part of the programme, reflecting the growing role of advanced technologies in business and society.
- Alongside AI, the event will examine developments in areas ranging from climate technologies and healthcare to mobility, financial innovation and the technologies supporting future industries.
- Climate and Energy will address another major area of technological transformation, while Health will explore innovation across a sector increasingly shaped by data, AI and emerging technologies.
- Mobility and Logistics will focus on the technologies changing how people and goods move.
- Digital Wealth will look at innovation across financial and digital ecosystems.
Technology, Defense, and the Future of Work
VDS 2026 will also dedicate significant attention to Defense and Aerospace, reflecting the growing intersection between technology, security, and industrial innovation. The event’s dedicated VDS Defense programme is designed to connect startups developing critical technologies with investors, industry leaders, operators, and public institutions, with a focus on moving innovation from concept toward operational capabilities.
Talent and Future of Work will provide another perspective on how technological change is affecting organizations and the workforce. The programme will consider the skills, people and organizational models needed as companies adapt to increasingly technology-driven economies, while Policy will examine the institutional environment surrounding innovation and technological development.
A Platform for Business and Investment
Business connections remain central to VDS’ model. The organizers expect more than 800 investors managing over EUR 300B in assets to attend alongside thousands of startups and scaleups and more than 1,500 corporations, creating opportunities for companies seeking investment, partnerships and international expansion.
The event will also feature a Business & Investors Lounge designed to facilitate conversations between startups, investors and business leaders, while the wider programme will include networking activities, startup showcases and dedicated meetings. VDS claims that its previous edition generated more than 2,500 meetings across its ecosystem.
The startup community will have another prominent role through the VDS Startup Competition. With 1,560 applications from startups across 87 countries, the competition went through several selection stages, and the finalists are set to present their solutions on the VDS Main Stage in front of the event’s international audience.
Valencia as a Global Innovation Hub
Since its first edition in 2018, VDS has sought to strengthen Valencia’s position within the international tech ecosystem, using the city as a connection point between European, Latin American and US markets. The Summit’s setting at the City of Arts and Sciences adds another distinctive element, turning one of Valencia’s most recognizable landmarks into a meeting place for founders, investors, corporates, and tech leaders.
The international reach of the event has continued to grow. At VDS 2025, more than 12,000 professionals from over 120 countries participated, alongside more than 3,000 startups, 1,500 corporations and 800 investors managing more than EUR 300B in assets. More than 600 speakers addressed topics including AI, cyber security, energy, health and longevity.
For 2026, VDS is building on that international ecosystem while expanding its focus across emerging technologies, investment, industry transformation and public policy. With startups, corporates, investors and technology leaders sharing the same platform, the 9th edition will put collaboration and connections at the centre of discussions about what comes next for the global tech economy.
