Dexory in a Nutshell: From Backyard Robots to Industry Leadership

Founded in 2015 in the UK by Romanian expats Andrei Danescu (CEO), Oana Jinga (Chief Commercial & Product Officer), and Adrian Negoita (CTO), Dexory began as a passion project born from a shared love of robotics. After moving to the UK a decade earlier and working at such companies as Google, IBM, Formula 1, and Just Eat, the trio decided—during a casual summer barbecue—to turn their curiosity into creation. Starting out by building robots in their shed and garden, they spent years refining their vision before dedicating themselves to Dexory full-time.

Originally known as BotsAndUs, the company rebranded in 2022 and evolved into a leading logistics technology provider, developing autonomous robotic solutions that bring real-time visibility and efficiency to warehouse operations. Today, Dexory’s AI-powered platform is trusted by global logistics and manufacturing leaders including DHL, GE Appliances, GXO, Maersk, and Stellantis, as well as major players in pharmaceuticals, retail, and eCommerce.

Platform Enhancements, Global Partnerships, and Intercontinental Expansion

In 2022, Dexory also began expanding its operations in Romania and the CEE region, catching ITKeyMedia’s attention. Since 2022, Dexory has experienced a period of strong growth and global expansion. Key milestones include the opening North American headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, and appointing Kristen Shannon as the new COO to support operations while scaling the company globally.

The company has also made notable enhancements to its data intelligence platform, DexoryView, introducing advanced optimisation and AI-driven modules that enable predictive and prescriptive insights. Strategic partnerships with C5MI, Infios, and Raymond Storage Concepts have strengthened Dexory’s ecosystem, connecting robotics, process management and automation. Most recently, Dexory marked its debut in the APAC region with a deployment at Linfox in Australia.

‘Every region brings its own operational and regulatory nuances. In Europe, the focus is often on data protection and safety compliance. In North America, scalability and integration across vast multi-site networks are key. In APAC, operational diversity and varying levels of automation maturity require flexibility in deployment models. Dexory addresses these through regional partnerships, compliance expertise, and by adapting where necessary to meet local standards and practices,’ Mr Danescu comments.

Responsible AI, Human Oversight, and Trust

Today, the Dexory platform combines robotics, AI, and huge operational data sets, which raises certain ethical implications of autonomous decision-making in a warehouse and the involvement of governance or human-in-loop safeguards. According to the CEO, Dexory’s approach to automation prioritises safety, transparency, and human oversight with systems being designed to support decision-making, not replace it. It means that Dexory’s robots operate within strict safety and compliance frameworks, and every automated action is traceable and auditable. DexoryView, in turn, provides complete visibility of warehouse data, giving human teams the context to validate AI-driven recommendations before implementation. Ongoing risk and data governance reviews are also maintained to ensure responsible deployment of autonomous systems.

To reinforce this commitment, DexoryView is accredited with SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type I certifications, alongside ISO 27001, providing independent assurance of our data governance and financial control frameworks, confirming that our autonomous systems are secure, auditable, and compliant with globally recognised best practices.

Tackling Data Fragmentation and Legacy Systems and Demonstrating ROI

Another big challenge that Dexory has to tackle is data fragmentation, seeing how many warehouses and supply chains are burdened with legacy equipment, fragmented IT systems, and organisational inertia, operating with siloed systems that cannot communicate effectively. Dexory solves this by offering seamless integration through APIs that link existing WMS, ERP, and automation systems. Its implementation is prompt and minimally disruptive, allowing operators to start gaining insights within days rather than months.

‘We also focus on clear ROI demonstration to show measurable improvements in inventory accuracy, efficiency and utilisation that helps drive stakeholder buy-in and long-term adoption,’ Mr Danescu specifies.

Building Sustainability and Reducing Waste Through Real-Time Data Insights

Oana Jinga, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial & Product Officer at Dexory

Logistics and warehousing are known to fall under pressure concerning energy efficiency and carbon footprint. Dexory addresses sustainability by working closely with suppliers to ensure sustainability runs through every stage of our operations, from how robots are built to how they are used and ultimately recycled at the end of their lifecycle.

‘But the biggest impact we have is with our customers. Because Dexory captures and analyses live warehouse data, we can show operators exactly where inefficiencies or product losses occur. We track goods that might be nearing expiry or sitting idle on shelves, helping customers act quickly and reduce waste. With the capacity to scan sites every single day, our technology highlights issues as they happen, enabling teams to pick the right pallets, return them into circulation, and send them to stores instead of letting them go to waste,’ Ms Jinga tells ITKeyMedia.

Accelerating the Product Roadmap and Investing in AI Talent

‘Dexory’s extraordinary combination of robotic and software engineering strength bridges the constraints of the physical supply chain with the power of AI-optimised intelligence, harnessing operational data at scale and turning it into actionable insights. We see a vast global market ahead, and Dexory is uniquely positioned to help the industry leap into the future. We are excited to back Dexory as they continue to scale the impact of their platform and grow their global footprint,’ Eurazeo’s partner and head of UK & DACH Raluca Ragab adds from the investor side.

The new investment is meant to accelerate Dexory’s product roadmap and expand access to its technology. More specifically, Ms Jinga shares that the Series C funding allows the company to accelerate further development of DexoryView and expand access to its real-time visibility solutions globally. The roadmap focuses on building AI systems that can perceive, decide, and act independently, helping warehouses evolve from intelligent to adaptive operations. Over the next 12–24 months, Dexory expects to enhance the predictive and prescriptive capabilities of DexoryView, improving how warehouses self-optimise, anticipate challenges, and coordinate people, robots, and systems in real time.

Additionally, Dexory continues to invest in talent to support innovation. The recent hire of Divya Gautam as the new Head of AI underscores the company’s commitment to its robotics, AI, and machine learning in logistics. Overall, Dexory expects to more than double our team globally over the next year. The majority of new roles will be in engineering, AI, and product development, alongside commercial and customer success functions to support the expanding international clientele.

‘Adaptive Warehouses’ in a Transformed Future

‘Dexory’s outstanding technology is already delivering impressive results and has the potential to fundamentally change the way organisations manage their warehouse processes. We look forward to accompanying and supporting the team on its further journey. Our investment in Dexory is a strategic move to drive innovation in the logistics industry,’ WaVe-X’ investment manager Michał Lewandowski states.

In conclusion, Ms Jinga shares the team’s vision of a fully transformed warehouse and supply chain 10 years from now and Dexory’s role in creating that future:

‘In a decade, the warehouse will evolve into an adaptive, self-learning environment, what we call an ‘adaptive warehouse.’ These are facilities that sense, decide, and act autonomously to keep operations efficient, resilient, and sustainable. Data will flow continuously across networks, enabling predictive decisions at every level and seamless coordination between people, robots and systems. Dexory’s vision is to be the intelligence layer that powers this transformation, providing the real-time visibility, insight, and autonomy that make such adaptive operations possible. By combining robotics, AI and data, Dexory will continue to help customers transition from intelligent warehouses to truly adaptive ones that learn, optimize and improve every day.’

Dexory’s innovations address some of the most critical challenges in logistics today—real-time visibility, adaptability, and efficiency across increasingly complex supply chains. By uniting robotics, AI, and data intelligence, the company empowers warehouses to evolve from reactive operations into predictive, self-optimizing ecosystems. In doing so, Dexory is not just automating logistics—it is redefining the fundamental understanding of the global movement, management, and sustainability of goods in the future to come.
